Art

Design

Senior Designer

The role will require the successful candidate to create and communicate inspirational designs for all areas of the game and take ownership for the implementation of them whilst working with the team to bring them to fruition.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand the vision of the Game Director to design key gameplay features, track layouts, community features, and gameplay balancing
  • Collaborate with Feature Leads to efficiently design, validate and amend core design concepts, features and assets, meeting expected quality standards
  • Collaborate with the head of Production to effectively plan the delivery of core design concepts, features and assets
  • Communicate the design to the team using visual design techniques and traditional documentation

 Experience:

  • Have an extensive working knowledge of game design theory
  • Demonstrate a solid working knowledge of level structure and playability
  • Have worked as a core team member during the early stages of development
  • Demonstrate an encyclopaedic knowledge of games
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of online Community Features
  • Be able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in written form
  • Demonstrate an enthusiastic, confident and positive personality
  • Have shipped at least one successful title within a Senior Design role.

Skills:

  • Experience in working in 3DSmax

Production

Producer

Responsible for the timely delivery of all titles developed by DLE, in accordance with the quality standards set by Discipline Leads and Head of Production.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the delivery of all titles developed by the franchise, internally, externally or via licensing, to the quality and the time and cost standards set by the HoP
  • Resolve time-cost-quality conflicts escalated by Discipline Leads
  • Supervise post-mortem execution at the end of each title, and ensure approved issues are turned into action points
  • Define a schedule and budget and track the teams progress against it, identify critical paths, key risks, change and slippage and put solutions in place to mitigate them
  • Define and enforce production processes as set by the Production Manager to ensure efficiency, focus and strong morale
  • Balance production considerations with quality and creativity in decision-making
  • Coordinate the organisation and scheduling of regular team meetings
Experience:
  • Successfully shipped at least 2 projects from inception to completion as a Producer
  • Proven track record of mobile game production
  • Outsourcing experience

Skills:

  • Demonstrate strong communication and leadership skills

Lead Programmer

Duties:
•    Take responsibility for overall project’s software design and architecture
•    Schedule the programming tasks for the whole project
•    Supervise and coordinate the programming team
•    Contribute with creative technical solutions to whenever the project requires
•    Provide mentoring for other programmers in the team
•    Assist in the elaboration of the game design
•    Assist the Producer to set up the project’s working pipelines.

Required Background:
•    At least 5 years software development experience within the video-game industry
•    Proven track record in the games industry
•    Previous experience in a similar position  
•    Love for games and plays them regularly
•    Proven experience in managing people

Required Skills:
•    Strong C++ and Object Oriented analysis, design and programming skills
•    Broad knowledge of the whole set of techniques used in game development, i.e. 3D graphics, AI, physics, network, etc.
•    Ability to schedule accurately
•    Knowledge of Art Pipelines
•    Experience in STL
•    Excellent oral and written communication skills
•    Ability to read and write technical documents in English language
•    Team management skills
•    Broad knowledge of the game development process

QA

QA Lead

Duties:
•    The Lead QA is responsible for game testing company’s titles. The Lead QA will work with a team of internal and external game testers a to ensure that games are tested to the appropriate games requirements and standards .
•    Co-ordinate the daily test activities of a test team. Create, implement and maintain testing tasks and relay the results to the appropriate parties.
•    Create, maintain and monitor bug databases.
•    Contribute to the creation of evolving processes for company’s games, which may be stand alone, multiplayer and or on-line enabled.
•    Develop and communicate test results to appropriate internal and external constituents.
•    Implement & maintain reports and test tracking documentation for assigned titles in development.
•    Plan for short and long term game testing needs – staff capacity and task management.
•    Participate in the training and motivation of game testing staff.
•    Participate in the development of new game titles.


Requirements :
•    Thorough knowledge of game testing processes and Quality Assurance in game development.
•    Two years of experience testing game software within a game development company (or equivalent education).
•    Strong personal interest in video games, game development and game technologies.
•    Understanding of software development process and challenges.
•    Experience managing staff and an understanding of staff management issues.
•    Excellent organizational skills.
•    Excellent communication skills.
